44,000 hectares await us, up to the border with Chile and at the foot of the Tupungato volcano.
Estancia San Pablo os a 44,000 hectare ranch nestled at the foothills of the Andes at an elevation of 1800m above sea level. Its river runs from the Chilean border,
overlooked by Tupungato volcano. We follow the stream in a jeep for 30 minutes (also possible by horseback if requested in advance), accompanied by your estancia guide who knows the best fly fishing spots. The river is abundant with Mayflies, trichópteras libres, efemeropteras and plecópteras. The trout can come in at 500 grams to 2 kilos.
We use mostly nymphs but there will be opportunities to dry fly also. Lunch is a riverside asado, accompanied by fresh salad and excellent wines. At 5pm we pack up and return to Mendoza.
